Elizabeth Ann Young

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Young, 72, of 133 Leslie Drive, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Self Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Abbeville, SC, on July 12, 1953, a daughter of the late Erskine William Jones and Nolie Hunter Jones.

She was a dedicated Substitute Teacher with Greenwood School District # 50. She loved the children she had the opportunity to teach. She was a member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness and graduate of Dixie High School and Piedmont Technical College.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Erskine William Jones, Jr., Geneva Jones Clements, Euphemia Jones Evans, Amanda Jones Thompson, Alfred Jessie Jones and Ervin Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving son, Michael Lorenzo Young, of the home; one brother, Alexander Jones, of Donalds, SC; two sisters, Edith Inez Jones of Chicago, Illinois, and Bessie Jones Barmore of Donalds, SC; one grandson, Christopher Demarcus Young; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 611 New Market Street, Greenwood, SC.

Mrs. Young will lie in state from Noon until 1:00 pm at the Church on Tuesday.

The family is at the home of a sister, Bessie Barmore, 616 Mt. Lebanon Church Road, Donalds, South Carolina, from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm daily.
